Much like a machine brow treatment, our saline removal process uses a specialized device to create superficial trauma, allowing the removal solution to gently lift pigment from the skin. As the area heals, pigment flakes away, gradually lightening with each session until the desired effect is achieved.

Treatments take about one hour, with numbing cream applied beforehand for a virtually painless experience. You may feel a slight stinging sensation for a few minutes as the solution works.

After treatment, the brows must stay dry for 10 days or until the flaking process is complete. A barrier cream will be applied 48 hours after treatment and again on day four if needed. Once flaking has finished, you can return to your normal routine.

If your brows have blue, grey, or red tones, the healing process often neutralizes these shades, resulting in a more natural brown color. This gradual shift can make the transition more seamless and the healing phase easier to manage.

For optimal pigment removal, a minimum of 2-3 sessions is recommended. The number of sessions needed depends on factors such as pigment age and previous treatments. Each removal session requires eight weeks of healing, and 12 weeks of healing is necessary before starting new brows.

This process cannot be rushed—allowing the skin to fully heal is essential for achieving the best results. Patience and commitment to your appointments will ensure a smooth transition to beautifully refreshed brows.

The treated area will become dry, and a light scab will form, sometimes showing visible pigment. A single application of Cavilon barrier cream should be applied over and slightly around the scab. This protective layer lasts for three to four days and can be reapplied on day four if necessary.

The area can get slightly wet when washing or showering, but avoid rubbing it. If any moisture reaches the scab, gently pat it dry with a clean tissue. Excessive wetting, including swimming, must be avoided while the scab remains. The scab will stay in place for five to fourteen days, and any excessive movement may cause it to crack, which can slow the healing process.

Allow the scab to detach naturally. For eyebrows, scabs may cling to the hair before loosening, but they must not be picked. Removing them prematurely can cause scarring and affect the final results.

For those prone to hyperpigmentation, follow ‘First 48 hours’ advice. After 48 hours the scab and surrounding skin must NOT be allowed to dry out or hyperpigmentation can occur.

Re-apply Cavilon cream every 2 or 3 days until skin until skin returns to a normal colour.

After the scab heals off:

We leave a longer time if the skin has not returned to a normal colour.

The pigment may look visibly lighter or different for the first 1-8 weeks

These are not considered results, it’s your skin healing and the remaining pigment settling.

You can begin using makeup on the area if desired.

Treat the area gently, no exfoliating or excessive sun exposure.

The second treatment can be carried out after 8 weeks.

Treatment cycle is 8 weeks, 8 weeks, 12 weeks and repeated as required.

Lightening, improving, or fully removing pigment is a gradual process that may require multiple sessions. Mature or heavily saturated tattoos often respond slowly at first, and after three treatments, we can better assess how easily the pigment is lifting.

In some cases, pigment may appear darker before it begins to lighten, particularly if it was implanted deeply. Surface-level pigment tends to lift more easily. Since brown pigment is composed of black, white, yellow, red, and green, the removal process may reveal different tones. Black typically fades first, causing underlying colors to become more visible. Grey brows may appear browner, and warmer tones may surface as the removal progresses.

Tattoo removal involves many variables, making it impossible to predict exactly how much pigment will lift per session or how many sessions will be required. Following aftercare instructions is essential to achieving the best results. Failure to do so may lead to complications such as hyperpigmentation, scarring, or infection. If signs of infection occur, seek medical attention immediately, as your technician is not able to provide medical advice.
